Recently I began receiving comments on my blog posts that appeared suspect but far be it for me to judge someone who’s first language isn’t English, so I assumed the best of the poster and thanked them for their interest in my blog.
I later identified some of the comments as illegitimate (spam) postings. It seems that the spammer was trying to entice me to use their services where I would buy a certain number of Comments, Likes or Tweets which they would programmatically deliver once I had paid them (assuming they didn’t just take my money and run).
I did not request or contract for this and I do not endorse the use of fake profiles, posts etc…
I am not going to mention the name of the site that was spamming me because I don’t want to bring them business!
Let me state for the record here and now, I DO NOT WANT FAKE COMMENTS, LIKES, TWEETS, FOLLOWERS OR FAKE ANYTHING ELSE!
I am not doing this for the numbers!
I blog because I want to reach people and help them learn about Programming, Information Technology, Web Development, Neural Networks and anything else I write about! I believe that if I can reach out and help just one other person learn how to use technology to improve the world I will have made a difference!
If what I write about helps you, please let me know. If you would prefer I write about something else or if you want more detail or even just hate my writing, please also let me know!
I would rather have a small number of of real readers and followers than an artificially inflated meaningless number!
Going forward, all comments on JoyHarvel.com will be moderated before appearing in the comments section below a post. I assure you all comments are very important to me and I will reply to all messages I receive, however because I want to maintain a legitimate blog free from spammers, I have chosen to moderate all comments.
I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
For all of my real followers, readers and commenters, I want to thank you for all the love you have shown me!
Much love to you all! 🙂
~Joy
